Queen Mary of Denmark beamed in an orange floral dress by Australian designer Zimmermann as she led the crowd in songs to celebrate the longest day of the year on Friday.
But attentive fans are convinced that the Queen used her big moment to convey a coded message about her private life and her “overwhelming” love.
The 52-year-old Australian-born queen hosted the annual Marathonsang event at the University of Copenhagen on June 21, known in the rest of Europe as the “summer solstice.”
But it was not the event that has now become a permanent fixture in the Queen’s calendar and that everyone was talking about, but her summer dress and carefully chosen accessories.
It seems as if the Queen wanted to pay respect to her homeland Australia and her love for the King with her chosen outfit.

The orange long-sleeved dress is from Australian fashion house Zimmermann, a favorite of Mary, who often chooses Australian or Danish designers.
But according to observers of the royal family, the color and design of the speech are just as important.
Orange stands for joy and abundance and is said to “rejuvenate” the spirit in color psychology. White lilies, on the other hand, stand for purity and rebirth.

The outfit was held together by a simple “letter F”, presumably for “Frederik”, on a fine gold chain.
Although the Queen wore the accessory often, her fans claim it reinforces her “cryptic” message.
The same goes for their timing, with the themes of solstice renewal reflecting their outfit choices and resulting theories.
“Spiritually, the summer solstice represents rebirth. Astrologically, it symbolizes a time of year to focus on home, family, and personal development, so as always, it’s in tune with everything,” noted one fan.
The color orange represents joy and abundance and is said to “rejuvenate” the mind when considering color psychology.
“She tells us that they have made a fresh start in their relationship – they are reborn as a couple and in love again. She has found the courage to put everything that happened behind her,” said another.
“It is so beautiful that she seems to be happy again and has found her love for our King again after losing it.”
The Queen’s speech also highlighted the topic of relationships.
“There is something very special about singing together because it makes us feel connected to one another. Whether at school, in church, at a party or at a marathon like today,” she said.
The Danes were happy that the Queen helped them celebrate the longest day, which included 17 hours and 30 minutes of sunshine.
“I am always in awe of Mary. How she has managed to adapt and embrace Danish culture and traditions, and also learn the language. What a gift she is to us,” one woman wrote on the palace’s Instagram account.
Queen Mary’s “fairytale” relationship with King Frederik has been in the spotlight since November 2023, when the then Crown Prince was spotted in Spain with another woman – his girlfriend, Mexican socialite Genoveva Casanova.
Since then, the couple has been less sociable in public and seems to prefer attending events alone.
However, on 6 June they met to celebrate the 175th anniversary of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Denmark.
