The singer of the popular song “Defe Defe” has expressed his dismay at Team Eternity’s approach to dealing with copyright issues.

Kwame Mickey, the producer of the original song “Defe Defe,” has asked Team Eternity to do the right thing by meeting with him and compensating him.

He intends to investigate the matter further as he believes they sampled parts of a song he previously produced.

In an interview with Kumasi-based station Hello FM, Mabel Tiwaa Rockson of Hallelujah Voices spoke out on the issue for the first time, saying she was not happy with Team Eternity’s approach to the matter.

She stated that she liked the song when she heard it and that she felt they should have approached her sooner because the matter would have been easier to resolve than it is now.

“I heard my kids singing the song and I thought they were the ones who came up with it. But it turned out it was a group that sang it. I wanted to do a remix, but I had to wait because their song was already out there and was so well received.

“Later, Kwame Mickey came forward and said he had attacked Team Eternity on social media and if he had told us, we would have told him to leave it to God, but he did not take that approach.

“So they called my husband and told him that we were Christians and we should behave like Christians and not like the people who sing hiplife. I was insulted when my husband told me what they had said,” she said in the interview.
