In the midst of the commotion, Grande then gave an explanation for her random voice changes in the comments section of one of the clips on TikTok.

She wrote that using her higher voice had become a “habit” for her after “speaking like that for two years” to play her “Wicked” character Glinda. The actress also cited “vocal health” as a reason.

“I often intentionally change my vocal range (high/low) depending on how much I’m singing,” Grande added. according to Billboard. “I’ve always done that, BYE.”

She has previously talked about her voice changes on the “Zach Sang Show.”

The Grammy winner explained that she had to “completely block out pop star Ari” to prepare for “Wicked,” and then called her Acting and singing teachers for their training.

“I trained every day with Nancy (Banks) and Eric (Vetro) to change my voice, even my singing voice. I had to deconstruct everything about myself to prove to them that I could take on this other person,” she told Sang in an interview in February.

Grande added: “I had to completely erase pop star Ari, the person they know so well, because it’s even harder to believe someone as someone else when you’re so branded as one thing. I had to go to great lengths to get rid of all that, to come to my callback with no makeup, with my hair down, I looked like I was 11 years old.”
