The creator of “Game of Thrones” says the ending of the book will be different from that of the TV series

George RR Martin has said that the game of Thrones The books will have a different ending than the television series.

Author Martin wrote in his blog: “Another question I get asked a lot, especially since the end game of Thrones on HBO, is whether A song of ice and firewill end the same way.”

He added: “An architect could give a short, concise and simple answer to that, but I’m more of a gardener. My stories grow and develop and change as I write them.”

“I know in general where I am going, clearly … the final goals, the big set pieces, I have had them in my head for years … in the case of A song of ice and fire.

“However, the devil is in the details and sometimes the ground beneath my feet shifts as the words bubble out of me.”

Martin then confirmed that the final two books in the series would not quite match what fans saw on screen: “What I’ve noticed more and more recently, though, is that my gardening is taking me further and further away from the TV series.

“Yes, some of the things you saw on HBO, game of Thrones You will also see in The Winds of Winter (although perhaps not in quite the same way), but many other things will be very different.”

While the series largely stayed true to Martin’s existing books, it also featured some major departures from the original, such as Sansa Stark’s marriage to Ramsay Bolton and the exclusion of some characters such as Lady Stoneheart.
