🔬 The debriefing of Sunday’s dramatic NWSL action

We had another full day of NWSL action as we prepare for the second half of the season, let’s take a look at what happened on the grounds.

What happened?

In one of the most surprising results of the season, three-time champions Portland Thorns were overwhelmed by Kansas City at Providence Park. The away win for the league leaders is no surprise, but the manner of the victory is.

Washington took advantage of a Yazmeen Ryan sending off to defeat Gotham and put some breathing room between their opponents, who were in third place that day.

The Courage overtook Chicago in the table after an impressive home win and were able to turn an early one-goal deficit.

Meanwhile, Seattle almost got back on track with a surprise win over Racing Louisville, but Reilyn Turner’s injury-time equalizer meant the points had to be shared.
