HELIX gives an intimate concert in the backyard of singer BRIAN VOLLMER

At 68 years old, Helix frontman Brian Vollmer still wants to “rock” you!

Helix will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2024, and fans are still excited. Last Saturday, June 22, Helix played an intimate concert for about 100 fans in Vollmer’s backyard in London, Ontario, where they also had the chance to meet and hang out with the band at the first-ever Helix Backyard Barbecue, reports Brent Lale of CTV News.

“We have always had a close connection with our fans,” says Vollmer. “Back in 1974, when we started, we answered fan mail and took great care of our fans. So this is nothing new.”

A stage was set up in Vollmer’s backyard in east London and merchandise was sold at the “bring your own alcohol” event.

Helix continues to have success, playing in venues large and small all over the world. “This year we started near Chicago, Illinois, playing in a speakeasy that Al Capone built himself; that was with Honeymoon Suite,” Vollmer said. “Last September we were in Hamburg, Germany, so we’re still playing all over the world. We play big concerts, thousands and thousands of people, to backyard barbecues.”
