Gracie Abrams accompanies Taylor Swift on her Eras Tour and plays a new song

Taylor Swift played a two-day-old song on guitar during her surprise performance before shocking Wembley Stadium with a performance by Gracie Abrams.

“If you know the lyrics to this, you get extra points because the song has only been out for about two days,” Swift said at the start of her acoustic set in London on Sunday.

“Technically, this song isn’t mine at all. It’s my friend Gracie’s,” Swift added in her pink dress.

She sang the first verse and chorus of “Us” before speaking again to the 89,000 fans.

“It’s kind of missing the magic, like there’s a big, huge piece of magic missing,” Swift said. “I just wish the actual artist who sings this song was here. If only Gracie Abrams was here. Hey, Gracie, you have to come out and see this.”

A gap opened in the diamond part of the stage and Abrams walked down the catwalk in a gold dress before sitting down at the piano.

“I love you so much,” she said, before explaining their songwriting process, which involved drinking Cosmos and wine. While the two were writing the song in Swift’s Tribeca apartment, a small fire broke out, caused by a tipped-over candle, and the Eras Tour star had to put it out with a fire extinguisher.

Swift said working with Abrams was magical.

“When you write with someone, you see the whole thing,” she said. “You see all the artistry. You see who that person really is, and when you write with her, she’s just so awesome. That’s a writer. I told her I’m going to gauge the enthusiasm for her here in London.”

Fans in the stadium should have known something was up when Abrams left the star-studded VIP tent an hour into the show and never returned. Abrams’ album, “The Secret of Us,” came out Friday.

Abrams left the stage and Swift sat down at the piano to sing a mashup of “Out of the Woods,” “Is It Over Now?” and “Clean” from “1989 (Taylor’s Version).”
