‘Incredible feeling’: Chris Jordan reflects on his special T20 World Cup hat-trick for England in his birthplace

Barbados-born Chris Jordan became the first English bowler to take a hat-trick in T20 World Cup history. Jordan also became only the second bowler in T20 World Cup history to take four wickets in a single over, after Ireland’s Curtis Campher, who took four wickets in a single over against the Netherlands in the 2021 edition in Abu Dhabi.

England’s pacemaker Chris Jordan scripted story in the T20 World Cup by taking a sensational hat-trick during a Super 8 match against the USA in his native Barbados on Sunday. Jordan achieved this remarkable feat in the 19th over of the innings, when he took four wickets in five balls and staged a stunning collapse.

Jordan replaced Mark Wood in the line-up and produced an impressive performance in the 19th over, dismissing the well-positioned Corey Anderson with a flat full toss which he could only direct to Harry Brook.

After a dot throw, Jordan removed the off stump of Muhammad Ali-Khan, hit Nosthush Kenjige on the shin and sent Saurabh Netravalkar’s middle stump into the air to complete an astonishing performance and the USA innings with the score of 4/10.
