Orioles manager talks about success and big Yankees series

The Orioles and Yankees will play three games this week in the Bronx, beginning with a 4-2 victory for the Bombers on Tuesday night.

The Yanks have a lead of 2.5 games over their league rival, who, with their young talent, seems to be a serious competitor in the coming years.

They are also led by reigning AL Manager of the Year Brandon Hyde, who joined Joel Sherman and Jon Heyman this week on a new episode of The Show podcast.

“The Show” podcast with Joel Sherman and Jon Heyman:

  • METS SUCCESS STRIP: The Mets can hit and will continue to do so. We haven’t even seen the best of these guys yet. JD Martinez is a professional hitter. Will the Mets be buyers or sellers?
  • YANKEES: Interesting series this week against the Orioles. Will the Orioles scare the Yankees? Who could the Yankees sign before the trade deadline?

Interview with Brandon Hyde:
Coach of the Orioles

  • YANKEES SERIES: Big series is coming up. There should be some good games.
  • INJURIES: I have to pick up the pieces of all the boys that fly out. I hold my breath every night.
  • GUNNAR HENDERSON: He is right up there in the running for MVP. He is a special player.
  • JACKSON HOLIDAY: I’m excited about his future. His time will come. He’s still very young.
  • CORBIN BURNES: Is he going to be here for the long haul? He’s a remarkable pitcher.
  • BULLPEN: Craig Kimbrel is a future Hall of Famer. There is a lot of trust in him.
