“The Elusive Samurai” unveils new trailer with opening song by DISH

The Elusive Samurai Anime has released a new trailer featuring the theme song ahead of the show’s premiere on July 6. Studio CloverWorks is in charge of the animation. The new trailer is narrated by Yuichi Nakamura, who voices Yorishige Suwa in the anime. Dish// sings the theme song “Plan A,” which you can hear below.

Katsuyuki Konishi joined the cast as Ashikaga Takauji, while BotchiBoromaru will sing the end credits song titled “Kamakura STYLE.” The anime recently unveiled a new visual featuring protagonist Hojo Tokiyuki, while you can see the main visual below.

The main staff for The Elusive Samurai consists of Yuta Yamazaki (Miracle Egg Priority Assistant Director) as director, Yasushi Nishiya (Ni no Kuni) as character designer Yoriko Tomita (My favorite dress) responsible for the series composition and Yoriko Tomita responsible for the script. The main voice cast of the anime includes:

• Asaki Yuikawa as Hojo Tokiyuki
• Yuichi Nakamura as Yorishige Suwa
• Hinaki Yano as Shizuku
• Mari Hino as Kojiro
• Sayumi Suzushiro as Ayako
• Aoi Yuki as Genba Kazama
• Kikunosuke Toya as Fubuki

The Elusive Samurai is another manga by Yusei Matsui, who is also the creator of The Assassination ClassroomThe manga was published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shounen Jump since 2021. Viz Media publishes it in English and describes the story:

After his family is massacred by the traitor Ashikaga Takauji, Tokiyuki flees with the help of a handful of loyal followers who also survived the purge. One of them is Suwa Yorishige, an ally of the Hojo clan and ruler of Suwa Province. The somewhat strange Yorishige also claims to be clairvoyant and predicts that Tokiyuki will one day become ruler of Japan. But for now, escaping enemy territory is his top priority!
