Live score USA vs England, T20 World Cup 2024, match today: Chris Jordan hit a hat-trick – and finished with four wickets – as the USA were bowled out for 115 in a crucial Group 2 Super 8 match at the T20 World Cup in Bridgetown, Barbados on Sunday. England captain Jos Buttler won the toss and elected to bowl first.

In Group 2, qualification is still wide open as leaders South Africa, who have won two of their two matches, are also at risk of missing out. If England beat the USA by more than 10 runs or by one over and South Africa lose to the West Indies on Monday, the Proteas will be eliminated.

If the Proteas beat the Windies and England are relegated to the USA, it will be a three-way tie between England, Wisconsin and the USA, with the team with the better net run rate qualifying for second place. The USA will also hope to beat England by more than 80 runs and hope that South Africa beats West Indies by more than 67 runs so that the USA’s run rate can improve.

T20 World Cup: How West Indies’ world-class spin trio pulled off a big win against USA

The West Indies’ three-pronged spin attack is not like the usual T20 trio.

Usually, with so many spinners in the starting XI, it’s likely that one of them will be a wrister. But with Akeal Hosein, Gudakesh Motie and Roston Chase, the Windies have a trio that complement each other. They even prompted Indian top-order player Ashwin Ravichandran to recently tweet: “This West Indian three-finger spinner attack shows how a good pack should chase, top class.”

On Saturday in Barbados, the spinners disrupted the USA’s batting (although the scoreboard revealed the pacers were responsible for five wickets) to set up the match for the hosts. Shai Hope then struck a direct hit on his home ground as WI posted 129 with 9.1 overs to spare. West Indies would have been out of the tournament had they lost, but a trembling Kensington Oval witnessed a clinical victory that gave WI a significant net run rate boost and left them with their destiny in their own hands.
