Dave Grohl attacks Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour”

“We like to call our tour the ‘Errors Tour’ … Because we actually play live.”

Both the Foo Fighters and Taylor Swift performed concerts in London this weekend – a fact that did not escape Dave Grohl’s notice.

The Foo Fighters frontman appeared to take a subtle, somewhat eyebrow-raising jab at Swift before performing “Statues” during the band’s concert at London Stadium on Saturday night. When he mentioned that “The Eras Tour” was taking place at nearby Wembley Stadium, Grohl responded with some boos from the crowd, replying, “I’m telling you, man, you don’t want to suffer the wrath of Taylor Swift.”

He continued: “So we like to call our tour the ‘Errors Tour’. We’ve been through more than a few eras and we’ve made more than a few damn mistakes. Just a few. That’s because we’re actually playing live. What? I’m just saying. You like raw, live rock’n’roll music, right? Then you’ve come to the right place.”

Grohl has been a champion of Swift in the past, previously sharing an anecdote about how she “saved” him when he was asked to play at a private Paul McCartney concert. Grohl also praised Swift for her decision to reclaim her back catalog by re-recording her previous studio albums, so it’s possible that Grohl’s comments were made in jest.

However, some fans speculate that Grohl’s comments may be related to the barrage of social media attacks his daughter Violet recently received from Swift’s fans after she criticized the singer for her private flights.

Consequence has contacted representatives of the Foo Fighters for further information.
