Tennessee (-210) vs. Texas A&M (+160)

  • Pitching duel
  • Tennessee: SP – Drew Beam (8-2) | 4.16 ERA
  • Texas A&M: SP – TIE

The Tennessee Volunteers are clear favorites with Drew Beam scheduled to start today. Beam already has an 8-2 record this year with a 4.16 ERA. He’s also put together several solid performances when the season was on the line. The right-handed pitcher went six scoreless innings against Southern Miss at the 2023 Hattiesburg Super Regional. This year, Beam put together another dominant performance against LSU, allowing just one run on six hits and striking out nine players.

In his last outing against North Carolina, Beam allowed just one run and had seven strikeouts in five innings. He will ultimately be the better pitcher no matter who the Aggies put on their side.

Texas A&M is rumored to be starting Justin Lampkin. He’s a left-handed pitcher with a 5.00 ERA this season. However, he threw 15 strikeouts in eight scoreless innings in the College World Series. However, Lampkin threw 70 pitches on Wednesday, which likely forced him out of the game somewhere after the fifth inning.

Ultimately, Tennessee had a chance to win last night. Against Texas A&M, they only managed 2 of 13 runs with runners in scoring position. That was the crucial difference.

Look for Tennessee to come up with some key hits and force a Game 7.
