The second single from Thalapathy Vijay’s next release GOAT titled ‘Chinna Chinna Kangal’ was released on the occasion of Vijay’s 50th birthday and the melodious song has generated huge excitement among fans across the globe. This song has a special meaning for composer Yuvan Shankar Raja and his family as it features an AI-generated voice that commemorates Yuvan Shankar Raja’s late sister Bhavatharini and Thalapathy Vijay.

Yuvan Shankar Raja dedicated the song to his sister Bhavatharini and wrote a heartfelt post about the song’s connection with his late sister.

Yuvan Shankar Raja, who is still mourning the death of his sister, penned an emotional post on social media about the special song. He wrote:

“The second single from #TheGreatestOfAllTime is very special to me. Words cannot describe this feeling. When we were composing this song in Bangalore, @vp_offl and I thought this song is for my sister and at that time I thought when she gets better and comes out of the hospital, we can record her voice. But an hour later I got the news that she is no more. I never thought I would use her voice like this. I would like to sincerely thank my music team and all the people who were involved in this process. It’s a very bittersweet moment for me #ChinnaChinnaKangal.”

Bhavatharini, the daughter of legendary musician Ilaiyaraja, died of cancer in January this year. At the time of her death, she was undergoing special Ayurvedic treatment in Sri Lanka with her husband. Bhavatharini had sung many chart hits in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam composed by her father Ilaiyaraja and had also worked with her brothers Yuvan Shankar Raja and Karthik Raja. She had also composed music for a film called Maayanadhi.

Greatest of All Time, also known as GOAT, is the upcoming film starring Thalapathy Vijay in the lead role and directed by Venkat Prabhu. Rumours are that this film will be one of Vijay’s last films as he is planning to enter politics and contest the 2026 state elections. A special promo video of the film was released today on the occasion of Thalapathy’s 50th birthday. GOAT is scheduled to hit the theatres on September 5 this year.

Yuvan Shankar Raja is composing for Vijay for the second time in his career. Previously, he composed music for Vijay in the 2003 film Pudhiya Geethai along with his brother Karthik Raja.
