Ukraine attacks command post on Russian territory

Ukrainian forces invade Russian territory and destroy the command post of a motorized rifle regiment in Belgorod Oblast, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reports.

“The Ukrainian Air Force, in cooperation with other forces, successfully attacked a command post of an enemy motorized rifle regiment in Nekhoteevka, Belgorod Oblast, Russia. The target was effectively neutralized,” says the statement on Facebook.

Following the fighting, explosions were observed, confirming the success of the attack.

This operation follows a decision by Western allies in May 2024 to allow Ukraine to use supplied weapons to attack Russian territory, but limited to a range of 100 kilometers. The impact has been noticeable: border regions such as Kharkiv have seen fewer Russian attacks. However, Kyiv is seeking expanded authorization for deeper attacks.
