Taylor Swift briefly interrupts show at London Eras Tour: “We need help”

In the middle of Taylor Swift’s emotional speech to a packed Wembley Stadium in London on Friday, the singer paused her thoughts to check that fans were okay at the end of the runway.

“We need help right at the end of the ramp, right where they’re waving,” she said during the “Red” era before her 10-minute song “All Too Well.” “I’ll just wait until I see that’s sorted. Here we go. You guys are the best. Look how fast that went. They really look after you here at Wembley, and they should.”

During Swift’s monologues “Betty” and “Champagne Problems” and in the middle of the song “Willow,” she also asked the staff to help fans.

“We need help right there, see them waving over there,” Swift said from her ivy-decorated “Evermore” piano.

The Eras Tour star performed her first of eight concerts in the massive stadium with 88,446 screaming fans. In Swift’s sea were her parents, boyfriend Travis Kelce, Jason Kelce, Kylie Kelce and Bridgerton actress Nicola Coughlin.

Swift reflected on her early concerts in the City of Dreams.

“It’s so incredibly surreal to finally bring the Eras Tour to London because you guys have been one of the most supportive people in my entire time making music,” she said. “I think I was 17 when I did my first show and I played at King’s College. Then I played at Shepherd’s Bush Empire and from then on you guys just kept supporting me more and more. The rooms gradually got bigger and bigger.”

The superstar will perform at Wembley on three nights in June and five nights in August.
