Fourth of July

Utopia will celebrate American Independence Day with a large parade up and down Main Street beginning at 10 a.m. on July 4th. Parade leaders include our community’s Vietnam Veterans. If anyone in our Sabinal Canyon community has not yet been contacted to ride on this float, please stop by Main Street Utopia this week and leave your contact information.

Everyone is welcome to participate in the parade with a float. Please meet behind the New Canaan Jelly Factory by 9:45 a.m. to secure your place in line.

The fireworks will follow on July 5th when it gets dark. As always, please have a donation ready for the buckets that will be passed around the parking lots so this tradition can continue.

Around the city

The Utopia Junior Horse Club met for the first time on Monday. Lots of cute kids are learning to ride and hardworking parents are helping them get the hang of it. what to do at the rodeo events.

There are only three nights left this summer, so come join in the fun and enjoy a good hamburger from the kiosk.

The Baptists held a very successful Vacation Bible School with nearly 50 youth and many youth volunteers. The Church of Christ school will begin soon, so look for posters with all the details.

June mornings are some of my favorite mornings of the year and the last few have not disappointed. Beautiful blue skies with fluffy white clouds, birds of all kinds flitting through my garden, a pygmy rabbit hiding in my wooded corner, fresh tomatoes and peppers just waiting to be picked, and it wasn’t even too hot.

Life is good out here on Spring Branch and when the If the storm actually brings us rain, things will be even better.
