The Voice UK confirms this year’s Battles programme
By Digital Spy
With the blind auditions now fully completed, The Voice UK has confirmed which contestants have the best chance of impressing their coaches in the Battles.
Sir Tom Jones (or should we say Woodward), will.i.am, Meghan Trainor and Olly Murs have each selected 10 singers to represent them on stage, and there are a few bands to boot.
As always, there are some outsiders in the race, but are there any real favorites this early in the competition?

Tom’s team this year includes Olly’s old friend Lara George – who performed a song by Jess Glynne at her first audition – as well as ShezAr, Zion, Lara Anstead, 30-year-old Sean Connolly, Elly O’Keeffe, Lois Moodie, Jonny Brooks, psychiatrist Vivienne Isebor and Shaun Samonini.
Olly, meanwhile, is hoping that one of his artists can secure him a second winner’s medal in a row this year: Cameo Williams, Ty Lewis, music student Alan Chan, girl group Belle Noir, Cat Cavelli, Brian Corbett, Blessing Chitapa, Bleu Woodward, Beryl McCormack and Millie Bowell.
Black Eyed Peas legend Will has a three-piece soul band called So Diva, Baby Sol, Doug Sure, 17-year-old student Gevanni Hutton, Johannes Pietsch, Lucy Calcines, Zindzi Thomas, Alia Lara, Shauna Byrne and Irish trio Evergreen, all vying for the record deal.
And in her debut series as coach, Meghan does indeed have a diverse line-up: Brooke Scullion, teenager Trinity-Leigh Cooper, Blaize China, Irish girls Katie and Aoife, Oli Ross, Jordan Phillips, student Darci Wilders, Holly Scally, Dean John-Wilson and the spectacular Claudillea Holloway.
Let the battles begin.
The Voice UK returns next Saturday (22 February) on ITV.
