Tensions between Russia and NATO on the brink of nuclear war (ANALYSIS)

The Russian-Ukrainian war has already passed its 849th day, but this war was not only a confrontation between two sides, but also aggravated the intercontinental conflict. We are talking about the centuries-old Cold War between the US and Russia. It even literally hints at the winds of nuclear war.

Yesterday, the harsh reaction of the Russian Foreign Ministry to the United States made many headlines. Washington’s attempts to suppress Russian diplomats and, moreover, the decision to close Russian visas in the United States caused considerable resentment in Moscow. In response, however, Moscow stated in a stern manner that it would take appropriate measures against the United States.

But the question arises: What prompted the US to behave this way towards Russia?

Of course, all the emerging tensions revolve around the ongoing Ukraine issue. However, the sharp and conservative speech by the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, against the United States yesterday provoked a reaction from the other side.

A staunch supporter of Russian President Vladimir Putin has escalated Moscow’s aggressive stance toward the United States with urgent caution.

Medvedev called the US side “whiners” and threatened them for their continued military support of Ukraine. “They should tremble and shake for what they are doing,” a Russian diplomat said in a statement.

In addition, Medvedev threatened the other side with his country’s threatening nuclear potential. He said that Moscow would not withdraw its nuclear arsenal until American support for Kyiv ended. Russia, which is confident in its nuclear power, has already tried to express that it takes this issue very seriously and is ready to give a tougher answer to the other side.

Will the US take a step back?

If we look at the policy of the United States of America, we can see that they are using more proxy powers. This means that the US is not going to go to war directly, and this is quite far from their policy. But how long will Ukraine, which has already suffered significant damage from the war, arm itself against Russia? This question has already become an abstraction that could change the final decision for Moscow. Moscow has already targeted several NATO bases in the Black Sea and Eastern Europe. So in the conflict, both Eastern Europe and Ukraine and the active United States forces are threatened. Ultimately, Ukraine must either surrender to the United States, or the United States must take action to defend itself against Moscow’s wrath.

The impact of the Russia-NATO conflict on the surrounding regions

The misunderstanding between Moscow and Washington not only poses a serious threat to both countries, but also to the surrounding regions. The most important of these are European countries, for example. Because the first target of the nuclear attack that Russia often mentions is the Eastern European border countries, which the US uses as a buffer zone. The second tension is related to the Black Sea. This is one of the seas that many countries consider strategic in terms of their economic existence. If Russia wants to neutralize NATO forces in the Black Sea, the surrounding countries may also be affected by this tension. Therefore, it is inevitable that as a result of the clash of two superpowers, some tension will be felt in the surrounding regions.
