Jennifer Lopez’s former producer has announced that he believes the singer needs to “sell everything”, move to Nashville and release a country album if she wants to save her career.

In recent months, the 54-year-old singer has struggled with numerous problems in her personal life and at work. There were rumors that her marriage to Ben Affleck was on the verge of ending and her first tour in five years was canceled due to poor ticket sales.

But now celebrated Hollywood mogul Jon Peters has revealed that he believes he knows the key that can help the “Jenny From the Block” singer advance her career: country music.

In the latest episode of TMZ Investigates, titled “JLo and Ben: Missed Warning Signs,” Jon – who previously worked with JLo when he produced her 1995 film Money Train – explained that he believes the hitmaker would have major success again if she shifted her focus from pop songs to Western songs.

He said he contacted her manager, Benny Medina, to share his proposal – and even offered to finance a country LP.

“Her career needs to change. I told her manager Benny Medina she needs to sell everything and … move to Nashville and record a country or western album,” he said on the new show, which premiered Sunday.

“It would be a monster, she would get every young guy. I (said Benny): ‘I’ll finance it. You don’t even need a record company, I’ll put up all the money and it’s ours.'”

R&B sensation Beyoncé recently shocked the world with the release of a country album titled Cowboy Carter.

Jon, 79, produced Barbra Streisand’s famous album ButterFly in the 1970s before shifting his focus to films.

He headed Sony Pictures from 1989 to 1991, but then left the company to start his own production company.

Over the years, he has produced a number of well-known films, including Superman Returns, Man of Steal, Batman and Batman Returns, and the 2018 remake of A Star Is Born.

In the documentary, Jon also expressed his thoughts on what might have gone wrong between Jennifer and Ben, and he suggested that Jennifer was “addicted to love.”

“She’s addicted to love, look at the men she’s been with. She can’t be alone,” he said. “She needs a man in her life, she’s never really spent time developing herself.”

Jennifer (to be seen in 2022) announced in February that she would embark on her first tour in five years – but just months later it was announced that it had been cancelled so she could “be with her children, family and close friends”.

Popular television host and addiction specialist Dr. Drew then delved deeper into the topic, explaining that love addiction is very real and can be extremely damaging to a relationship.

“In fact, thousands of people participate in 12-step programs and identify themselves as love addicts,” he said.

“The characteristics of these people include that they have no big boundaries, they get drawn into relationships quickly and easily, they fall head over heels in love with people and once they get involved, they can’t get out.”

Jennifer has been linked to many men over the years and has been married four times.

Rumors have been circulating for weeks that she and Ben are getting a divorce. as it was reported that they live in separate houses and trying to sell their $60 million Beverly Hills home.

They have remained tight-lipped about the speculation, but showed unity when they were seen holding hands at Ben’s daughter Violet’s graduation ceremony on May 30.

A few days later, the two were also caught by photographers sharing an awkward kiss at his son Samuel’s basketball game.

They arrived at the sporting event separately and greeted each other outside. They skipped a kiss on the lips and instead blew each other an air kiss, with Ben appearing to pat his wife on the shoulder before they walked into the event together.

Additionally, Jennifer posted a tribute to Ben in honor of Father’s Day on Sunday, calling him her “hero.”

Jon also shared his thoughts on what might have gone wrong between Jennifer and Ben Affleck amid rumors that they were getting a divorce, and he suggested that Jennifer has a “love addiction.”
