Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan denies reports of arrests in Dubai and urges his fans to ignore “nasty rumors.”

Pakistani music star Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has denied allegations of his arrest in Dubai and urged his fans to ignore the false reports. The singer’s clarification came in response to claims by various Pakistani media outlets that he was arrested following a defamation suit filed by his former manager.

According to reports, the acclaimed artist, known for his contributions to Indian cinema as well as his original works, was in Dubai for a musical collaboration. It was claimed that he was detained at an immigration centre and subsequently taken into police custody for questioning.

Geo TV reported that the defamation suit was filed by Ahmed, the singer’s former manager. He reportedly filed the suit after Rahat fired him a few months ago due to a work dispute. Following the dispute, both parties have been fighting in court.

To put the rumors under control, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan clarified his situation on Instagram. “I came to Dubai to record a song. There are some malicious reports circulating about my arrest. Please don’t believe them,” he explained in the video, assuring his followers that he was fine and could focus on his music.

As news of his alleged legal troubles spread, fans and fellow artists alike rallied in support of Rahat and expressed their concern over the misinformation.

Earlier this year, Khan found himself at the centre of a controversy after a video of him allegedly slapping a person went viral on social media. In the alleged video, Khan can be seen repeatedly hitting and slapping the man, who he later identified as his protégé Naveed Hasnain, with a slipper and asking: “Where is my bottle?”

The singer, known for hit Hindi film songs like “Mann ki Lagan” and “Jiya Dhadak Dhadak”, later posted a series of videos on Instagram to clarify his point, calling the viral video an “internal matter” between a master and his student.
