Wausau, WI – The Woodchucks tied the series with Green Bay and won their first home game in eight days, beating the Rockers 12-4 tonight.

Adiel Melendez (Montavello) made his first appearance since being named an All-Star. Melendez went three full innings, striking out three players and allowing just two runs. The Chucks are now 8-0 when Melendez pitches.

The Chucks got to work very early. After Jake Berkland (Mankato) reached base on a walk, Edian Espinal (Chipola) hit his first home run of the year and gave the Chucks a 2-0 lead. Espinal reached base four times and scored three times.

The Chucks remained largely quiet and scored 2 runs by Espinal and Austin Dearing (Florida International), making the score 4-2.

After allowing 1 run in the upper part of the 6ththe Woodchucks responded with a massive 7-run inning. Max Soliz Jr. (Houston, TX) reached first base on a walk and scored on a single by Luke Pemberton (Pepperdine). Jake Berkland got an RBI when he also beat Pemberton on a single. After Sam Fischer (Florida International) and Espinal reached first base, Max Galvin (Miami) hit a single, scoring both and bringing the score to 8-3.

Colin Bruggemann (Oklahoma State) started his 4th of the year, a 3-run shot near the video board that brought the score to 11-3.

Evan Alwine (Florida International) and Brayden Marks (Bradley University) were both on the mound tonight. Alwine took over for the Chucks in the 4th.thpitched 3 fulls and struck out 1. Alwine allowed only 1 unearned run. Marks made his 2and appearance of the season. He also managed 3 fulls and 1 strikeout, the last batter of the game to end it for the Chucks.
