A woman’s insistence on a particular Taylor Swift Song at their wedding led to the breakdown of a friendship.

Accordingly PeopleIn the Reddit thread “True Swifties,” a friend of the bride asked people for their opinion in a now-deleted post. Apparently, the bride wants to play “Lover” during the wedding ceremony, and the friend thinks she shouldn’t because, as she wrote, “Taylor specifically added it to her rejection playlist and that would invalidate it.”

The friend continued, “We argued about this yesterday and haven’t spoken much since, but I love her…please let me know what you think as soon as possible.”

Taylor’s “Denial” playlist was one of several she created for Apple Music in April to promote The “Tortured Poets” sectionEach was dedicated to one of the five stages of heartbreak: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance.

Taylor described the denial playlist, titled “I Love You, It’s Ruining My Life,” as “a list of songs about getting so caught up in an idea of something that you can barely recognize the warning signs.” In addition to “Lover,” the playlist also includes songs like “Cruel Summer,” “Style,” “Willow” and “Lavender Haze.”

Commentators largely agreed that it doesn’t matter what playlist Taylor thinks the song belongs on – what really matters is what “Lover” means to the bride-to-be.

“Taylor included Lover on her denial playlist, but that was her opinion on the song she wrote,” one commenter noted. “She made it very clear that these songs belong to us once they’re released, so her relationship to the song has nothing to do with your girlfriend’s relationship to the song.”

Another was not so kind, writing: “How can you not realize that this is crazy behavior on your part?”
