Taylor Swift’s promotional photo for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris resurfaces

Taylor Swift’s personal support for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris ahead of the 2020 presidential election has resurfaced online and gone viral.

The singer of “Bad Blood,” who is said to have enough influence to sway an election, celebrated Harris in a vice presidential debate with specially baked cookies.

In October 2020, Swift declared that she would vote for Democrats Biden and Harris by posting a photo of herself holding a plate of cookies decorated with the Biden/Harris campaign logo.

Swift explained in the social media post that she had an interview with V Magazine about their decision to vote for Biden.

“It’s so fitting that it came out on the night of the Vice Presidential debate. I’ll be watching and supporting @KamalaHarris by screaming a lot at the TV. And I have special cookies too,” she added.

The photo of Swift holding the custom cookies was reposted by user @thehomiehopper on X (formerly Twitter).

“Let’s fire up the oven mommy @taylorswift13,” he captioned the post, which went viral with 1.6 million views at the time of publication.

Newsweek has emailed Swift representatives for comment.

Harris is now considered the favorite for the Democratic presidential nomination after President Biden dropped out of the race.

“My very first decision as a party candidate in 2020 was to select Kamala Harris as my running mate. And it was the best decision I made. Today, I want to offer my full support and endorsement of Kamala becoming our party’s nominee this year. Democrats – it’s time to come together and defeat Trump. Let’s do it,” he wrote in his statement announcing his decision not to run in the November election.

Although Swift has not yet endorsed a candidate for the 2024 election, there is no doubt about her influence.

Exclusive survey conducted for Newsweek A survey conducted in January by Redfield & Wilton Strategies found that 18 percent of voters say they would be “somewhat” or “significantly more likely” to vote for a candidate endorsed by the singer.

Seventeen percent said they would be less likely to vote for a candidate endorsed by Swift, while 55 percent would be neither more nor less likely to vote for such a candidate.

The poll, in which 1,500 eligible voters took part, was conducted on January 18 and had a margin of error of plus or minus 2.53 percent.

Voter registrations also skyrocketed after Swift urged her fans to register to vote.

On National Voter Registration Day 2023, Swift posted on Instagram urging her fans to register on the nonpartisan, nonprofit website Vote.org. According to the organization, her post received more than 35,000 registrations, an increase of nearly 25 percent from the same day last year.
