Taylor Swift makes her live debut with “We Are Happy” and “Happiness”

Taylor Swift performed “We Are Happy” and “Happiness” live for the first time last night (July 23) at a show in Germany. Watch the footage below.

The pop star played the first of two consecutive concerts at the Volksparkstadion in Hamburg yesterday as part of the European leg of her ongoing “Eras Tour”.

During the “Surprise Songs” section, Swift delivered a solo piano mashup of “We Are Happy” — a “From The Vault” song featured on “Fearless (Taylor’s Version)” — and the “Evermore” track “Happiness.”

“I’ve never played the next ones live, so wish me luck,” the singer told the crowd.

The live debuts came after Swift played a mashup of “Teardrops On My Guitar” and “The Last Time” on acoustic guitar. Watch the fan-made videos here:

Last week, Swift made her live debut with “Superstar” at a show in Gelsenkirchen. Before that, she performed “Sweeter Than Fiction” for the first time on the tour, as well as “imgonnagetyouback” and “The Albatross.”

In other news, Swift recently confirmed “I Can Do It With A Broken Heart” as the next single from her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department.

Next month, the singer will return to London for five more sold-out shows at Wembley Stadium, after playing three gigs there in June. Support will once again come from Paramore.

In a five-star review of their opening concert of the British “Eras Tour” in Edinburgh, NME wrote: “Even though it was an arena show in a huge, cavernous venue, Swift and her fans managed to build a community.

“Strangers exchange friendship bracelets, laugh and cry together, and make fun of inside jokes and stories from the tour (such as screaming “One, two, three, let’s go, bitch” during “Delicate”). It’s the power of Swift, an artist who not only inspired the renaming of a Scottish lake, but also got countless fans to come out and accept being part of the Eras family.

“With the ‘Eras Tour’, Swift has succeeded in creating a true show wonder that comes with a beating heart.”
