Benedict Cumberbatch and Claire Foy narrate the Christmas adaptation of Mog on Channel 4

Among the stars who will lend their voices to the Channel 4 adaptation of Mog’s Christmas are Benedict Cumberbatch and Claire Foy.

Miriam Margolyes, Adjoa Andoh, Maggie Steed, Zawe Ashton and Charlie Higson will also lend their voices to the upcoming animated TV version of Judith Kerr’s beloved children’s book classic.

“Bridgerton” star Adjoa will narrate the story that brings Mog’s family and neighbors to life, and Judith’s daughter Tacy Kneale will provide the purrs and meows of the lovable cat.

Gwawr Lloyd, Drama Commissioning Editor at Channel 4, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be bringing Mog to the screen with our partners.

“It’s the perfect Christmas fairytale full of fun and adventure with an all-star cast including Claire Foy as Mrs. Thomas and Benedict Cumberbatch as Mr. Thomas.

“Channel 4 has a long-standing relationship with Lupus Films and together with their creative flair we have brought so many classic stories to the screen that generations of viewers have enjoyed. Judith Kerr’s much-loved film Mog will be a great addition to this collection and a very special festive treat for audiences.”

Benedict will voice the role of Mr. Thomas, Claire will play the role of Mrs. Thomas, and Miriam and Maggie will play the aunts.

Additionally, Fresh Meat star Zawe will play one of Mog’s neighbors, Mrs. Gaynor, and Charlie will play the funny uncle.

The book tells the story of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas and their children Debbie and Nicky – played by newcomers Amelie Law and Teddy Skelton – as they prepare to entertain their two aunts and jolly uncle for Christmas.

But Mog feels ignored and has no joy in the big Christmas tree. When it reaches the family’s house, he runs onto the roof.

After an eventful night, she finally falls down the chimney when she hears the mention of breakfast. The whole family is relieved and everyone can enjoy Christmas together.
