Give Benedict a male lover in season 4 of Bridgerton, you cowards!

Give Benedict a male lover in season 4 of Bridgerton, you cowards!

Benedict Bridgerton step into the spotlight!

While the first seasons of Bridgerton focused more on other members of the Bridgerton family like Jonathan Bailey Featuring Anthony, Luke Newton’s Colin and Phoebe Dynevor’s Daphne, the upcoming fourth season tells the love story of the second Bridgerton son, Benedict.

According to Netflix’s X-Account (formerly Twitter), the fourth season of the popular and saucy romantic series follows Benedict Bridgerton a little more closely.

“Although his older and younger brothers are both happily married, Benedict is reluctant to settle down – until he meets the enchanting lady in silver at his mother’s masked ball.”

In the Bridgerton In the novels, the lady in silver turns out to be Sophie Beckett, a woman of humble origins.

But we have to ask: Why not a captivating Man in silver?

After the third season of the series explored the queerness of several characters, namely Francesca Bridgerton (In addition to Benedict), many fans hope that queerness will be explored even further in the next season.

Benedict began a romance with the young widow Lady Tilley Arnold (Hannah New), but he wasn’t the only one she was with.

After several passionate lovemaking sessions, Tilley introduced Benedict to her boyfriend Paul Suarez (Lucas Aurelio), another man with whom she had a casual affair. But she didn’t just introduce the two men to each other, she encouraged them to get to know each other better.

This encouragement was hardly necessary, for there was an electric chemistry between Benedict and Paul, and soon the two were kissing and the three of them were having plenty of intense three-way sex.

“(He) seemed a little lost to me at the end of last season when his brother got married, and now he’s still trying to find his way between adulthood and being a carefree guy,” executive producer Shonda Rimes said of Benedict in her season notes. “This season, you see him explore aspects of himself that he didn’t even know were there. I think you also see him find joy in the excesses of life.”

“I knew people out there felt Benedict might be gay,” said showrunner Jess Brownell said after season 3“And for me personally, it made sense. Not only is he open-minded, but he seems like the type of person who doesn’t worry too much about gender – someone who’s more fluid and pansexual. He’s really attracted to the soul of a person. And so it felt like we should make sense of those parts of Season 1 and 2. That’s what we were trying to do with his story.”

Some homophobic fans are already angry The Bridgerton changed the gender of a character, Michael Stirling in the books, in the show it is Michaela Stirling. At the end of the third season, Francesca met Michaela (Francesca married Michaela’s cousin John) and the two immediately had an intense connection.

In the books, Francesca falls in love with Michael, so we assume that Francesca will fall in love with Michaela in a similar way.

Hopefully Benedict can also explore more of his queer sides, be it with this mysterious Lady in Silver or alone.

Bridgerton is streaming on Netflix.
