A pattern is emerging in the next recruiting class of the Michigan State football team.

Cornerback George Mullins, of Bushnell, Florida, became the Spartans’ 10th addition in the class of 2025, the first full recruiting cycle under new coach Jonathan Smith. Like the previous nine, Mullins is rated as a three-star talent by 247 Sports (though he is not listed on the site’s composite lists, which take into account the ratings of other recruiting services).

The 6-foot-2, 175-pound senior at South Sumter High is the No. 62 overall cornerback and the No. 79 player in Florida, according to 247 Sports’ rankings. The multi-sport star – Mullins is a track and basketball player – held offers from Illinois, Louisville, Mississippi State, West Virginia and Oregon State, as well as several programs in the Mid-American Conference and Football Championship Subdivision.

Mullins had 27 tackles, a team-high 10 passes defensed, two interceptions, blocked three field goals and an extra point attempt in 12 games for South Sumter as a junior. He also caught four passes for 104 yards and scored a touchdown.
