Dover and Leatherwood tip their hats to their trainer Blake Shelton and his buddy Post Malone.

Dalton Dover and Bryce Leatherwood team up for a lively cover of Post Malone’s latest release “Pour Me A Drink” featuring Blake Shelton.

With a couple of beers in hand and a little help from two guitarists, Dover and Leatherwood take turns delivering their version of the popular song. Each vocal set lights up the room with twangy bite and a passion that enhances the lighthearted story of two friends looking to forget their worries of the week and enjoy a cold beer on a Friday night.

“My brother @daltondover_music and I had to bring you all our rendition of this INCREDIBLE song 🔥What do you think of this duet?” Leatherwood captioned his post on Instagram, while Dover wrote, “Country music, cold beer, and damn good friends.”

The chorus then finds the two artists coming together in a series of harmonies, with fans begging them to officially record this stripped-down version of “Pour Me A Drink.”

“Somebody pour me a drink, somebody scrounge me a cigarette/I’m about to get high, I’m about to get going/Yeah, I’m bending my back just to keep up with the neighbors/Y’all know what I mean and y’all know what it’s like/When Friday’s over and I’m getting paid, slide me a shot/I can’t even think when I hear somebody call my name (Hey),” Leatherwood and Dover sing in the chorus.

The official release of the sensational song, written by Louis Bell, Austin Post, Charlie Handsome, John Byron, Jordan Dozzi and Rocky Block, came just days after the 2024 CMA Fest, where original artists Shelton and Malone sang the song live at Nissan Stadium.

Leatherwood and Dover have a lot in common. Not only are they Georgia natives, but they both got their start on the singing competition show. The voicewith Blake Shelton as coach. Dover auditioned for season 16 and impressed the judges with his cover of Keith Whitley’s “Don’t Close Your Eyes.” He made it to the battle rounds before being eliminated.

Leatherwood, on the other hand, was a little more successful in his appearance in Season 22. The Team Blake member earned a spot in the finals and was ultimately crowned the winner of the entire competition.

Both artists have continued to have successful music careers even after their time on the show ended. Dover most recently released a song called “Here’s The Deal” in which he gives a shout out to his hometown and celebrates the strong bond one can have with the place one grew up. He is also currently touring the country, showcasing his talent at fairs and festivals across the country, as well as opening for select dates on Sam Hunt’s Locked Up Tour.

Meanwhile, Leatherwood debuted his thoughtful new song “Still Learning” last month. Written by Randy Montana, Jeremy Spillman and Brett Sheroky, this song offers listeners a taste of the rising country star’s unfiltered vulnerability as he uses his baritone voice to express the reality that the most important lessons in life are often the hardest to accept. Leatherwood also reminds his fans that even when you think you have it all figured out, there’s always more to learn.

Fresh off his first-ever headlining tour, he’s now playing a variety of venues including the Canton River Rock Festival and the Arrow Rock Lyceum Theater. In between those dates, Bryce Leatherwood will enter the coveted circuit and make his Grand Ole Opry debut on September 14.
