Chris Brown sued for alleged assault on a group of concertgoers

Chris Brown was charged with physically attacking a group of concertgoers.

Four concertgoers filed a lawsuit against the musician in Harris County District Court on Monday (July 22). They claim that the singer and his crew “brutally and severely beat them without justifiable provocation.”

Brown and three others – Sinko Seej, Omololu Akinlolu (AKA Hood Boss) and Markies Conway (AKA Yella Beezy) – are named as defendants in the lawsuit, accusing them of assault, negligence/gross negligence and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Larry Parker, Joseph Lewis, Charles Bush and DaMarcus Powell claimed the assault occurred after they, along with 40 other women, were invited to Brown’s VIP area at his concert in Fort Worth, Texas.

After Bush allegedly tried to shake Brown’s hand to congratulate him on the show, Seej apparently reminded Brown that he and Bush were “having a falling out.” The lawsuit then alleges that Brown told his crew to “go and finish off Plaintiff Bush.” Although the plaintiffs attempted to leave, Brown and “seven to ten” of his crew allegedly followed them, with one member allegedly punching Bush in the chest and another throwing a chair at his head.

Meanwhile, Brown was accused of ordering his crew to strike Parker “in the face and chest,” after which Brown and his crew “kicked and stomped on him in the head for over ten minutes.” Powell was allegedly struck in the shoulder, while Lewis claimed he was struck in the shoulder and chest. The lawsuit further claimed that all four plaintiffs were under medical treatment.

Live Nation, the promoter of Brown’s current tour, was also named as a defendant. The lawsuit accuses them of “shamelessly” profiting from Brown’s tour and failing to “ensure the safety of concert attendees who may have been in proximity to Brown and his associates.”

The concertgoers are demanding $50 million in damages and an injunction against Brown and the three other defendants. NME has reached out to Brown’s representatives and Live Nation for comment.

Meanwhile, Chris Brown has claimed he was “disinvited” from the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game.
