King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard release “Hog Calling Contest”

They have also released a mini-documentary about the creation of their new album Flight b741.

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard have continued the release of their upcoming album, Flight B741with a new single titled “Hog Calling Contest.” Stream it below.

“Hog Calling Contest,” an uptempo track with a country twist, is driven by a relentless bass line and over-the-top vocals that fit the song’s theme. “I’m going full throttle,” the band sings.

In a statement, King Gizzard revealed that the song was written as a “tune-up/warm-up jam” for their Flight B741 Sessions. “We learned to record those moments; that’s how ‘Daily Blues’ came about,” they explained. “‘Hog Calling Contest’ retains a unique craziness that only comes from messing around with your buddies and not believing you’re being recorded. Happy in the mud!”

As a bonus, the Australian group has released a 15-minute documentary film that documents their creative process for Flight B741with teasers for tracks like “Field of Vision”, “Raw Feel” and “Mirage City”. “Hog Calling Contest” is the second preview of the album after “Le Risque”. Flight b741 will be released on August 9th via their own label p(doom) Records; pre-orders are underway.
