Nmpml conductors: Nmpml conductors call off their strike | Nashik News

Nashik: The Citilinc bus service of Nashik Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (NMPML) was back on track after the bus drivers, who had been on strike over salary issues, resumed duty late on Saturday. The Citilinc management assured the employees that their grievances would be heard and also threatened them with action under the provisions of the Maharashtra Essential Services Maintenance Act (MESMA). The bus drivers have been on strike since Friday morning, which has resulted in as many as 150 buses coming off the road. “Our previous two protests revolved around the same issues. Heavy penalties were imposed, which affected our salaries. However, since our grievances were not heard by the administration, we resorted to strike,” said one of the bus drivers, who wished to remain anonymous. “We decided to withdraw the strike after our delegation that met the administration was assured of resolution of the grievances,” said another bus driver. A meeting between Citilinc representatives and the bus drivers is scheduled for Tuesday. “Citilinc has processed all payments to the bus drivers on time. However, if they continue to have problems, they can negotiate or take legal action, but not strike. The conductors must not blackmail people,” said MS Band, general manager of Citilinc.
