I don’t think Bridgerton will change the plot of Eloise’s book (nor should it)

Summary

  • Sir Phillip’s color palette alludes to his later marriage to Eloise and follows the trend of wardrobe choices of the members of the Bridgerton family.
  • Despite slight changes in the plot, the relationship between Sir Phillip and Eloise in the series remains true to that in the original books, ensuring consistency.
  • Even though Eloise and Sir Phillip met under different circumstances, their reconciliation is likely to be a central plot point in season 4 of Bridgerton.

Netflix’s captivating romance series Bridgerton has made some interesting changes to the literary source material, but I don’t think it will change Eloise’s storyline – nor should it. The series focuses on a love story for each of the siblings in the Bridgerton family tree, with the focus so far being on the romances of Daphne, Anthony and Colin Bridgerton. That leaves Eloise, Benedict, Francesca, Hyacinth and Gregory Bridgerton still waiting for their big moment. While previous storylines have been altered for dramatic effect, I believe Eloise’s storyline would actually benefit from a faithful adaptation.

According to the books, Eloise is set to marry Sir Phillip Crane. The showrunners have not yet confirmed when her season will be Bridgerton Timeline. However, whenever this happens, there is a possibility that the Bridgerton TV series will change its story from the novels. With Bridgerton Season 3 surprised me by how many details were changed – like when Penelope reveals Lady Whistledown to Colin. While some of these differences made the series more impactful, making such dramatic changes to Eloise’s journey wouldn’t be the best way to go.

Sir Phillips’ costumes reveal that he will marry Eloise

He wears the Bridgerton color palette

At all of Sir Phillips’ appearances on Bridgerton So far he wears shades of blue and green. This is the the same color palette worn by the entire Bridgerton family. Whenever one of the siblings develops a love interest, their clothes contain exactly that color palette. Penelope Featherington, for example, once wore bright, warm colors. Then her character wore Bridgerton Season 3 wore more greens and blues, as she was destined to marry Colin. Although Sir Phillip was only seen in a few scenes, his color palette, which matches that of the Bridgertons, reinforces the idea that he will marry Eloise.

Another color that the Bridgertons like to wear is purple. However, viewers have never seen Sir Phillip in this color in the series.

For the sake of consistency, Sir Philip’s colour scheme should signify that he marries Eloise, just as he does in Julia Quinn’s novels. Teasing viewers with the Easter egg in the clothing colour runs the risk of double disappointment, as any deviation from the story would represent a radical change from the books and break a previously established trend. To avoid any inconsistency, be it with the colour signalling or a complete change in who Eloise is in BridgertonSir Philip must make a big presence.

Sir Phillips’ storyline in the series still follows the storyline in the books

His story remains on track so far

Ruby Barker as Marina Crane looks shocked in Bridgerton season 2

Sir Phillips’ Bridgerton The plot of the series so far follows his original story. For example, he married Marina Thompson (Ruby Barker), just like in the books. However, there is already a small difference between his story and the original, as Marina is actually Eloise’s cousin and not Penelope’s cousin. This relationship in the books allows Sir Phillips and Eloise to make contact after Marina’s death. Since Penelope and Eloise are not only best friends, but now also sisters-in-law, I think the show can still easily connect the two. In this way, the Bridgerton The series will remain faithful to the book series despite minor changes in the plot.

If the series wants to avoid further controversy, it should continue to use the storylines of the books and mix them with more dramatic twists.

Since Bridgerton Season 3 brought some massive changes from the books, The show should stick to the story of Sir Phillips and EloiseFinally, there was a lot of controversy about Bridgerton Season 3 saw a lot of changes in Francesca’s romance, which left audiences divided. If the show wants to avoid further controversy, it should continue to use the storylines from the books and mix them with more dramatic changes. This is especially true since it seems odd to keep Sir Phillips’ storyline exactly the same up until now, only to veer off course when Eloise’s season begins.

The way they meet again may be different from the Bridgerton books, but it should still happen

Circumstances have changed slightly

Phillip Crane visits the Featheringtons' house with a marriage proposal to Marina Thompson in Bridgerton Season 1, Episode 8, "After the rain"

Technically, Eloise and Sir Phillip had already met in the second season of BridgertonUnfortunately, their meeting did not end well. So what happens to Eloise in the Bridgerton Books compared to the show are a bit different. But There is still a chance that they will see each other again and have a good relationship. if the Netflix series continues to follow Sir Phillips’ storyline closely.

The reconciliation between Eloise and Sir Philip, possibly after Marina’s death, is crucial to enabling Bridgerton to accurately reflect Eloise’s book story. Otherwise, it’s hard to see how the series can avoid rewriting Eloise’s romance from scratch. If it can’t do that, I and other book fans will have to live with the double disappointment of not having our favorite storylines adapted and that all of the series’ visual cues thus far have been just red herrings.

Eloise’s story is not the only possible romance that could happen in
Bridgerton
fourth season. Benedict and Francesca’s storylines are also possible storylines that could be shown in the upcoming season.

With the confirmation of Bridgerton In season 4, Eloise could finally get her love story. Her relationship with Sir Philip has the potential to be one of the most beautiful stories in the series and deserves to be faithfully adapted. If Bridgerton delivers a more traditional version of the novel’s plot, I and many other book fans will breathe a sigh of relief.
