Series review: The Jumbo Shrimp completed their first sweep since 2019, albeit in a shortened series, winning all three home games against the Durham Bulls. The victory moves Jacksonville to 11-9 and fourth place in the International League East second-half standings.

To mark: The game didn’t end until after midnight, but Bennett Hostetler stayed alert for the Jumbo Shrimp late Saturday, racing home the game-winning run on a wild pitch in the sixth inning as Jacksonville defeated Durham 6-4 in the second half of a doubleheader.

Crustacean sensation: Since the All-Star break, Javier Sanoja has been a baseball player in top form. The 21-year-old infielder from Venezuela hit .454 with three home runs in the Durham Series and raised his OPS for the season with the Jumbo Shrimp to .829.

On board: The host Tides, Triple-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, enter the second half of the series with a .500 record. Norfolk’s roster includes three of the Orioles’ top five young players rated by MLB.com, including infielder Jackson Holliday, who has a .948 OPS for the Tides. Also on the rise are infielders Coby Mayo (.305/.385/.628, 22 HR, 63 RBI) and Connor Norby (.297/.389/.519, 16 HR, 57 RBI).

Expected pitchers on Tuesday: Kyle Tyler (4-2, 3.06) of Jacksonville faces a pitcher yet to be determined from Norfolk.
