Mark Wahlberg shifts his famous 4am workout to 2am in his new fitness routine

Mark Wahlberg has spent decades of his life working hard in front of the camera, on stage and in the gym. King Arthur The star is dedicated to his daily early morning workout, which traditionally starts at 4 a.m. Now Wahlberg has moved his workout time at the gym even further forward.

On July 21, Wahlberg shared an insight into his training in an Instagram post and announced the new start time for his workouts.

“My week starts on Sunday at 2am,” Marky Mark wrote in the caption. “Get a head start.” The post and caption feature clothing brand Municipal, co-founded by the popular actor.

Wahlberg’s morning workouts are nothing new, but the optimized schedule is. Back in 2019, the actor told Men’s Journal that he eats breakfast at 3:45 a.m. and is at the gym at 4 a.m. He prays at 5 a.m. and is on the golf course at 6 a.m.

“Nothing interferes with family time, so I sacrifice my mornings,” he said of his routine. “I thrive on the drudgery.”

That doesn’t mean, however, that he jumps out of bed every day and is ready to tackle the day. In fact, he often struggles with the temptation to sleep in and tells People in February that he incorporates things like a cold bath into his routine to avoid giving in to sleepiness.

“I thought, ‘Okay, I’m awake, I’m alive.’ And right after that, it starts,” he said of his cold bath before the gym. “So I just go and do the work.”
