Damar Hamlin stops by The Masked Singer on Sesame Street night and the jury makes two correct guesses

The Masked Singer can tell you how to get to Sesame Street.

The show welcomed Big Bad Wolf, Cookie Monster, Count von Count, Elmo and their friends for Sesame Street night on Wednesday night. The gang opened the evening with a cover of “Dynamite” by BTS.

Farmer seeks wife Presenter Jennifer Nettles also came along and burst into tears along with judge Nicole Scherzinger. The jury includes Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy and Robin Thicke.

Reigning champion Squirrel was first to take the stage and offered another clue in her clue package: a wedding dress. “Say yes to the guess,” said Squirrel.

Squirrel sang “Just the Two of Us” by Grover Washington Jr. feat. Bill Withers.

As a further clue, Elmo then talked to a boy named Damir. Damir then brought out his brother, Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin, who was in critical condition after suddenly collapsing during a game in January.

Hamlin, 24, wanted to come on the show because of his little brother. “He loves Sesame Street more than most things, so we had to get it done tonight,” the NFL player said.

Hamlin then gave an additional clue in the form of a soccer ball with Jeong’s face on it.

“Ken, this isn’t the first time we’ve worked together, but this is the first time you’ve had more lines,” Squirrel said, adding that she and the comedian had worked together “maybe more than once.”

Panelists suggested actresses Malin Akerman, Anne Hathaway, Katherine Heigl and Kate Hudson as Squirrel’s identity.

Next, Fairy introduced herself.

“Some would say I’m kind of a Nepo Fairy,” Fairy said in her clue packet. “I mean, while other kids had pocket money, I earned my pocket money by paying the neighborhood kids to come over and see my dad, who was just hanging out at home.”

The video also included a black bear stirring a cauldron, a police badge, a basketball, a Christmas tree, a feather duster, a rubber duck, and images of Emilio Estevez, Rob Lowe, and Sean Penn.

“I definitely could have taken a more direct route to fame like some of my childhood friends,” Fairy continued. “But I chose a slightly different path, prioritizing my education and traveling the world, but ultimately my destiny led me back to the Hollywood spotlight. I think office work just wasn’t for me.”

Fairy impressed with an interpretation of Linda Ronstadt’s “You’re No Good”.

Cookie Monster offered another clue, the phrase “endless love.”

“This note should be music to your ears, a timeless classic that means so much more to me than just romance,” Fairy said.

Tracee Ellis Ross, Angelina Jolie and Rashida Jones were considered as possible candidates for the role of Fairy.

Last up is Jackalope’s turn.

How Sesame StreetJackalope said in her clue package, “I also love entertaining audiences of all ages.”

Jackalope said “talking wasn’t my thing as a kid,” so she expressed herself through music and dance instead. Now “people know I’m very influential,” Jackalope said, later adding, “People all over the world started to identify with me and what I do.”

In addition, the information package contained the Scream Mask and Jackalope film social media videos.

“I created a modern family of outsiders and together we shaped an industry,” Jackalope concluded.

Jackalope put his own spin on Shakira’s “Whenever, Wherever” and Count gave another tip with 30 under 30.

“Donald Glover, Emma Stone and Michael B. Jordan – it’s an honor to be on the same list,” said Jackalope.

The judges thought Jackalope could be Camila Cabello, Jenna Ortega or YouTuber Lele Pons.

Host Nick Cannon told the audience that it was now time to vote for the best performance of the evening. The contestant with the fewest votes would be eliminated. On an evening with three talented performers, that ended up being Squirrel.

McCarthy suspected that 44-year-old actress Akerman was underneath the rodent’s head.

Fairy and Jackalope then competed in the Battle Royale, both performing their versions of “On Top of the World” by Imagine Dragons.

The jury ultimately decided to keep Fairy and send Jackalope home. When the mythical animal jumped off her head, 28-year-old influencer and singer Pons (who had suspected Scherzinger) appeared.
