“The family asks for privacy during this time and to keep speculation on social media to a minimum as they grieve and process this devastating loss,” Slash wrote.

Knight’s cause of death has not been disclosed.

Guns N’ Roses band member Melissa Reese expressed her condolences, commenting: “I am at a loss for words. Sending you all my love, hugs, condolences and support.”

Susan McKagan, wife of Slash’s bandmate Michael Andrew “Duff” McKagan, also wrote: “Words cannot express our deepest sympathy and condolences. I love you all so much.”

Over the weekend, Slash canceled four shows on the SERPENT tour, which he headlines, “due to unforeseen circumstances.” He said the performances would resume on July 28.
