Volante Rosso will re-enter the Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia field next week with a newly acquired Aston Martin Vantage GT3 for the third round of the season at Queensland Raceway.

The Sydney-based team was absent from the opening rounds of the 2024 season at Phillip Island and The Bend after announcing in April that it would miss the start of the season due to health issues for bronze-rated driver Chris Batzios.

But now Volante has announced a new collaboration with Aston Martin, making the company the British brand’s official partner team for the Australasia region.

The team will take delivery of a former IMSA Vantage GT3 on Friday in time for a shakedown at Sydney Motorsport Park, ahead of the Queensland round on August 2-4. The car is set to be upgraded to the latest Evo specification later in the season.

“Joining Aston Martin Racing as a partner team is the most exciting thing we have done in our time in GT racing,” said team principal Chris Papadopoulos.

“The Vantage GT3 has everything you could want in a race car. Not only have AMR done a fantastic job adding everything to make it a great race car, but they’ve started from a pretty sensational road car too!

“Aston Martin takes racing performance as seriously as we do, so the company has been an excellent fit for us and has welcomed us warmly from both an ownership and engineering perspective.

“I think it’s fair to say that every racing fan has missed seeing an Aston Martin in overall contention in Australia, so we couldn’t be prouder to be the team leading Aston Martin back to the top class here.”

The drivers for the Volante Aston team have yet to be confirmed, but the No. 14 car will compete in the top Pro-Am class.
