The Bainbridge Decatur County Development Authority met last Thursday for its monthly meeting. After approving financial documents and minutes, the authority received a Chamber of Commerce update from Chamber President Karen Tobin. Tobin updated the Development Authority on the upcoming youth leadership programs as well as the upcoming Chamber Connect luncheon. She also spoke about job fairs the Chamber organized for Rural King, A-1 and Steward Machine Company.

Following the Chamber’s update, the Development Authority entered a closed session. The Authority resumed regular session without taking any action on the issues discussed in the meeting.

Then, CEO Rick McCaskill gave his report and discussed progress on the Anovion project as well as a project code-named “Project Neptune.” McCaskill also mentioned a community advisory board meeting involving BASF and congratulated the company on its involvement in the community. The recent groundbreaking for the Element Hotel was mentioned. One new company McCaskill mentioned was a porcelain company that is currently looking for a building.

After this report, the meeting was adjourned.
