NGAIO releases visuals for her song “Goddess” (Video)

Celebrated singer, DJ and activist NGAIO has captured our ears and eyes with her new single “Goddess”, which is also visually convincing. The song is the last single from her self-produced EP Four quarters and is a gripping anthem of spiritual awakening for women around the world.

Supported by the rich and dynamic production consisting of sparse grooves, and brooding pads with floating, solemn strings, NGAIO reminds us how strong the connection within the woman is, the mental and physical Airplane if we all pay attention and look within ourselves.

Inspired by the centuries-long societal pressures placed on women by a biased patriarchal system, NGAIO aims to loosen this vise by empowering women to reclaim their strengths. Equipped with a rich and distinct vocal tone, she delivers a poignant performance that celebrates women’s uniqueness and need for self-expression and determination beyond what the world tells them to be.

The accompanying visuals use a wide range of motifs to convey its message. From scenic and mood lighting to expressive performance scenes with subtle motifs to stunning set pieces, viewers are taken through the emotions and stages as we see the growth and development of NGAIO in one breath. NGAIO was also recently part of the Censored Campaign to sexualize female nipples, which was part of a citywide exhibition addressing the hypocrisy and consistent policing of the female body.
