According to prosecutors, McBroom intentionally fired several shots at 21-year-old Jorge Garcia Leon at Club Marcella on February 12, 2023. Garcia Leon died at the scene, a 49-year-old and a 59-year-old man were injured and taken to ECMC.

McBroom faces a maximum sentence of 50 years to life in prison; sentencing is scheduled for September 9. He remains in custody and cannot be released on bail.

“This is a completely senseless, violent crime. This defendant smuggled an illegal gun into a nightclub and then, after a minor altercation, intentionally fired multiple shots at the victims. I take a tough stance on gun violence, which is why a reduced plea was not offered in this case. I hope that Jorge Garcia Leon’s family and the two survivors feel that justice has been served by this defendant pleading guilty to all charges.”
