Chris Choat – June 29, 1954 – July 20, 2024: The Prowers Journal

A memorial service for Chris Choat, a long-time resident of Granada, Colorado, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 26, 2024, at the Peacock Family Chapel with the Reverend Kathy Leathers of Granada Methodist Church officiating. Cremation will follow at Chris’s request.

Chris was born on June 29, 1954 to Vernon L. and Dixie (Lochman) Choat and passed away on July 20, 2024 at Memorial Central Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado at the age of 70 surrounded by his family.

He is predeceased by his wife, Debra Choat, and his father, Vernon Choat. Chris is survived by his children, Trevor (Mendi) Choat of Lamar, CO and Rebecca (Ty) Harmon of Granada, CO; his grandchildren, Chelsea (Alec) Laude, Alexandra (Isaac) Tate, Tallie (Lane Porter) Harmon, Abbie (Cody) Campbell, Emmie Harmon and Riley Harmon; and his great-grandchildren, Sophia Melgosa, Alec Morales, Talon Kincade, Saylor Tate and Carson Tate. He is also survived by his mother, Dixie Choat of Granada, CO; his brother, Craig (Dorothy) Choat of Lamar, CO; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Chris Choat Memorial Fund through the funeral home.
