Disney has always been known for its acclaimed animation blockbusters, often based on fairy tales. One of these successful titles is Tangled(which can be streamed with a Disney+ subscription). In recent years, the House of Mouse has produced a number of live-action adaptations of these projects, including Beauty and the Beast, The Lion Kingand the upcoming Vaiana – The wonderful world of love Live action. Actor Zachary Levi recently revealed who he thinks could play Flynn Rider in a live action remake, and I could imagine it.
While there was debate about whether Frozen or Tangled is a better film, it seems that sooner or later there will be a live-action version of the latter film. Zachary Levi was at the helm of the Tangled Voice as Flynn Rider and spoke to ET Online about who could embody the role in the flesh. He suggested a big name, saying:
I mean, he gets every other job, but probably Timothée Chalamet? I mean, he gets every other job, but probably Timothée Chalamet? Unfortunately, I feel a little old – and that I don’t know all the younger actors that could be this guy.
There you have it. While joking about Chalamet’s incredibly busy schedule, Levi believes he has the talent and tries to emulate Flynn Rider’s signature smolder. After all, he and co-star Mandy Moore are a bit too old to reprise their roles for a live-action version. TangledAnd between Timothée’s enormous star power and his experience as a singer in projects such as Wonkahe would be a great choice to bring Flynn to life.
While Zachary Levi is a talented stage and film actor who even played a superhero with the Shazam franchise, but that doesn’t mean he’s the right choice to play Flynn in the flesh. After all, the character is said to be around 26 years old, while Levi is 43 in real life. That being said, he delivered a truly iconic voice performance for the 2010 film, one that inspired short films as well as a new Tangled ride for Disney parks. Timothée Chalamet is a very different actor than Levi, but he has the long flowing locks and acting chops to put his own spin on Flynn.
Of course, there is no indication that a live-action Tangled Film will actually take place in the foreseeable future. Instead, Disney will initially focus on the live-action Vaiana – The wonderful world of love Film that will see Dwayne Johnson reprise his role as Maui. This will be released after the animated sequel Vaiana 2 – The Great Adventure will be in theaters this November.
If a new Tangled The film is in production, and whoever is cast will have big shoes to fill. Alongside Levi, Mandy Moore absolutely nailed her role as Rapunzel’s voice, lending her signature singing voice to the musical numbers. Moore has always had a stunning voice, which is why she was the perfect choice for the role of a Disney princess.
It remains to be seen whether a live-action Frozen The animated blockbuster is now available to stream on Disney+ after Disney gave the film the green light. Check out the 2025 release dates now to plan your cinema visit next year.
