Bigg Boss OTT 3: Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena leader demands action against show, actors; says it is ‘absolute vulgarity…’

Senior Shiv Sena MP Manisha Kayande on Monday approached the Mumbai Police demanding action against Bigg Boss 3 and its makers. The MP met Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar to denounce the “absolute vulgarity” portrayed in the reality TV show.

“Bigg Boss 3 is a reality show. The shooting is going on. It is about absolute vulgarity being portrayed here. The YouTube influencer is also involved in it. Now he has crossed all the limits of vulgarity and we have asked the Mumbai Police to take action over the scenes shown and we have sent them a letter. To what extent is this public display of vulgarity in the name of reality shows right? How is it influencing young people?” she asked.

Dr Kayande also hinted that he would approach Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to demand a law to regulate OTT content.

The Sena leader said that in the episode aired on July 18, a contestant (Armaan Malik) was seen sharing what appeared to be an intimate moment with Kritika Malik under the bed covers in Bigg Boss’s bedroom.

“The couple has trampled all boundaries of human relationships and social norms. Even children watch the show and it affects them. Big Boss is no longer a family show. Armaan Malik and Kritika Malik have crossed all boundaries… We have told them to arrest the actors and also the CEO of the show,” she said.

The Sena leader’s demand for a ban on the show came as the footage sparked an uproar on social media, with some viewers interpreting the footage as an intimate moment while others claimed that part of the viral video clip could be edited content from the international version of the show, Big Brother.

“It has been repeatedly pointed out that the reality show Bigg Boss OTT 3 features obscenities and tramples on social and family values. Such shows are also a threat to our cultural values and the police commissioner has been requested to stop them immediately and take strict action against the producers,” she added in an X-post.
