The Braves are in the Bronx to face the Yankees in one of those games, while the Brewers, who lead the NL Central, visit the Padres in the other game. Coors Field comes into play in the third game of the night when the Nats and Rockies meet for the second game of their three-game series, and the final meeting of the night is a showdown between the two Los Angeles teams when the Dodgers welcome the Angels.

Let’s take a look at the top players and values for this Saturday’s DFS fantasy baseball game from the eight-team player pool.

JUG

breed

Tyler Glasnow, Los Angeles Dodgers Comparisons Los Angeles Angels ($11,800) – Glasnow is by far the most expensive pitcher on the board this Saturday, but there are plenty of reasons to be happy to pay up for him. Glasnow has a great matchup against the struggling Angels and is 7-5 with a 3.00 ERA and 2.66 FIP in his 15 starts this season for the Dodgers. His most important fantasy asset, however, is his strikeout rate, which leads the National League at 12.1 K/9. He has at least eight strikeouts in each of his last four starts and has 38 strikeouts in 26 innings over that span, for a 13.2 K/9 rate. He has posted over 22 DKFP in each of those four starts, including a masterful 35.4 DKFP performance in his last start, which was at home against the Royals. Although he’s had a few rough outings, Glasnow has largely lived up to expectations since being signed as the team’s ace. He should dominate on Saturday, as the Angels have scored the second fewest runs in MLB over the last 30 days and as a team have only a .222 batting average, .291 wOBA and a wRC+ of just 86.

Value

Cal Quantrill, Colorado Rockies Comparisons Washington Nationals ($6,000) – Quantrill is the only Rockies pitcher I’ve consistently recommended this season, and while I don’t like Saturday’s matchup, he makes a lot of sense at just $6,000, especially given the limited other value options in the game. Quantrill has done a great job of limiting damage all season despite not having much strikeout potential. He’s allowed two runs or fewer in seven of his last nine games, and the only two exceptions were both against the Dodgers. In that time, the veteran right-hander has a 6-foot-4 record with a 2.25 ERA and a 3.35 FIP while scoring over 20 DraftKings points in six of those nine games. If he can get anywhere near that level again this Saturday, he should be worth a look, even if the Coors Field factor is against him.

INFIELD

breed

Shohei Ohtani, Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Los Angeles Angels ($6,600) – Ohtani and Glasnow are both off to fantastic starts to their Dodger careers and have been dominant pay-up plays since joining the team last offseason. Ohtani is second in the National League with his .318 batting average and leads the NL with a .427 wOBA and 21 home runs. He hit 2-for-4 with another home run in the series opener on Friday and has seven homers in his last 11 games while batting .400 (16-for-40) with a .610 wOBA and a 17 DKFP per game average. Ohtani and the Dodgers face off Zach Plesac ($6,800) on their way to their second consecutive victory over the Halos.

breed

CJ Abrams, Washington Nationals at Colorado Rockies ($6,200) – Abrams was held off the roster on Wednesday because of a wrist issue, but was able to return for Game 1 of the Nats’ series in Denver on Friday. He hit 3-for-5 with two doubles, a stolen base and 26 DKFP and has hit safely in 12 straight games. He’s batted .367 (18-for-49) in that span and has a .267 batting average for the season with 11 home runs, 11 stolen bases and a .345 wOBA. Abrams is expected to be back at the plate for the Nationals at Coors Field on Saturday night, so his mix of power and speed should continue to generate runs and DKFP. While I rate Quantrill as valuable, getting some attention in Washington’s lineup is a must for his small team, especially after they scored 11 runs in Game 1 of the series.

Value

Brendan Rodgers, Colorado Rockies vs. Washington Nationals ($3,000) – Rodgers was officially released from the 10-day IL on Friday but did not play in the Rockies’ loss to Washington. He should be ready to face the left-hander on Saturday, however. Mitchell Parker ($7,400)and he’s a great deal for just $3,000, especially at Coors Field. Rodgers was hitting a solid .275 with a .306 wOBA before his injury and has been on a roll in his last 20 games, hitting .308 (24-of-78) with a .347 wOBA. Two of his three home runs this year came in his last nine games before landing on the IL. He’ll look to pick up where he left off, and it gives him a nice boost to face a left-handed pitcher. Against left-handed pitchers, Rodgers has hit .347 with two home runs and a .399 wOBA this season.

Value

Ben Rice, New York Yankees Comparisons Atlanta Braves ($2,900) – Rice is a good player for under $3,000, and if you let him play at 1B to save some salary, Ohtani is still an option for a spot in the outfield. According to MLB Pipeline, Rice is the Yankees’ 12th recruit, and the rookie gets a chance to fill in at 1B while Anthony Rizzo (arm) is out. Rice has gone 2-for-11 (.182) in his four games since joining the Yankees, but showed the potential for much more in Double-A and Triple-A earlier this season. He hit .275/.393/.532 with 15 home runs and nine stolen bases in 60 games before being called up. A left-handed hitter at Yankee Stadium, Rice’s power gives him a high chance to be in the starting lineup at this salary.

OUTFIELD

breed

Christian Yelich, Milwaukee Brewers at San Diego Padres ($5,800) – Yelich has had a renaissance year for the Brewers so far with a batting average of .324 and a wOBA of .391, which would be his highest numbers since 2019. He and the Brewers have a good matchup against the struggling Randy Vasquez ($5,900)who in his 42 23 innings in the MLB this season. Vasquez has had left-handed hitters like Yelich bat .465 against him, with a wOBA of .531. Yelich comes into this favorable position with good momentum, having gone 13-for-35 (.371) with one home run and four stolen bases over his last nine games, averaging 11.6 DKFP per game during that span.

breed

Lane Thomas, Washington Nationals at Colorado Rockies ($5,100) – Thomas has just a .238 batting average with a .311 wOBA this season, but the 28-year-old right-hander has been much better than those numbers lately. After three hits Friday, he’s batted 17-for-51 (.315) with a .437 wOBA in his last 14 games. Thomas usually bats second to Abrams, and both bring a good mix of power and speed that gives them high potential and makes them an exceptional mini-stack to consider at the top of the Washington order.

Value

Jarred Kelenic, Atlanta Braves at New York Yankees ($3,100) – Since Michael Harris (hamstring) was placed on the injured list along with Ronald Acuna Jr. (knee), Kelenic has taken over as the Braves’ leadoff hitter and is thriving in his new role. In his six games at the top of the order, Kelenic has batted 9-for-28 (.321) with two home runs, a double and a stolen base, averaging 11.0 DKFP per game. He even stuck with the leadoff spot against a left-hander on Friday, and it looks like he’ll continue to get plenty of chances to score in a strong lineup while Harris is out. Getting him for just over $3,000 is a steal considering his potential and his top-notch run production spot.

Value

Forrest Wall, Atlanta Braves at New York Yankees ($2,200) – Wall is another lefty on the Braves’ roster and will likely return to the lineup after sitting out Friday night. The 28-year-old left-hander went 2 for 5 in his two starts earlier this week after being called up from Triple-A Gwinnett, where he posted a .287 batting average with four home runs and 11 stolen bases in 44 games. Wall had a great Spring Training and his speed gives him high potential at a salary barely above the minimum. If he’s back in the lineup, he’s a great way to save salary while still having high potential.
