Watch Coldplay’s Chris Martin dedicate “Everglow” to Taylor Swift during his German tour

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin dedicated “Everglow” to Taylor Swift during the band’s German tour this weekend.

The members took the time to honor Swift during her performance on the first of three nights at the Merkur Spiel-Arena in Düsseldorf on Saturday (July 20), after she recently departed there from the nearby city of Gelsenkirchen following her “Eras Tour.” You can watch the moment below.

Martin told the audience before the release of her 2016 single: “This is for Taylor Swift because she left town. This is for everyone who is sad today because Taylor had to move to the next town.”

“So we sing this love song, this song about heartbreak and send it to Taylor wherever she is today.”

This happened after the band recently presented their new song “Good Feelings” at a show in Rome.

It follows the band’s current single “feelslikeimfallinginlove”, which they released last month as a first taste of their upcoming album “Moon Music”, which is due out October 4th and can be pre-ordered here.

The band played a triumphant headlining gig at Glastonbury last month. In a four-star review NME Martin’s words about the festival were noted: “I look around and see so many incredibly wonderful people from everywhere and that is what makes Glastonbury the best town in the world in my opinion,” he said, paying tribute to “the most peace-loving, lovely people” who make up the Glastonbury population. He admitted that Coldplay had “stolen so much of the ethos of the vision of Glastonbury” and as a result had become “a band of 100,004 people.”

NME wrote: “Will Coldplay top Glasto again? Five more times? Who knows? Martin announced a few years ago that the band plans to stop making music in 2025, saying NME They planned to record 12 albums; now number 10, ‘Moon Music’, is coming in October. The future is a question mark, but tonight was a good attempt to make history with a set that felt like home.”

Michael J. Fox also reacted to the performance he described as “fucking amazing” during Coldplay’s headlining set at Glastonbury. Fox was a surprise guest during the encore on a night that also saw the band bring out a number of guests including Little Simz, Femi Kuti, Victoria Canal and Laura Mvula.

Elsewhere, Steven Wilson recently debunked the nearly two-decade-old myth that he called Coldplay “wankers.”

Meanwhile, Eminem has finally pushed Swift off the top of the Billboard 200 after 12 weeks with “The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)”.
