Slash announces the death of his stepdaughter Lucy-Bleu Knight

Slash has announced the tragic death of his stepdaughter Lucy-Bleu Knight at the age of 25.

The Guns N’ Roses guitarist shared the heartbreaking news on social media on July 22.

“Lucy-Bleu Knight (December 6, 1998), beloved daughter of Meegan Hodges and Mark Knight, stepdaughter of Samantha Somers Knight and Slash, sister of Scarlet Knight, stepsister of London and Cash Hudson, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2024 in Los Angeles, California,” the statement said.

“Lucy-Bleu was an incredibly talented artist, a passionate dreamer and a charming, lovable, sweet soul.”

The family asked for privacy and to “keep speculation on social media to a minimum as they grieve and process this devastating loss.”

The announcement was quickly followed by a wave of condolences, with fans and friends expressing their support for Slash and his family.

“Words cannot express our deepest sympathy and condolences. I love you all so much,” wrote model and author Susan Holmes McKagan, wife of Slash’s Guns N’ Roses bandmate Duff McKagan.

Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea wrote: “Oh man God bless you,” while Violet Grohl – musician and daughter of Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters – wrote: “My heart aches for you guys. Love to your family right now.”

She was the daughter of Slash’s partner Meegan Hodges and Mark Knight. Hodges and Slash first started dating in 1989 and rekindled their relationship in 2015.

Knight’s death appears to be the reason behind Slash’s recent announcement to cancel several dates on his SERPENT tour.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, the SERPENT tour must unfortunately cancel the performances listed below. Refunds are available at points of purchase,” the statement said. The canceled dates include a show in Cincinnati tonight (July 22), followed by dates in Interlochen, Huber Heights and Windsor.

The tour is scheduled to continue in Toronto on July 28.
