Slash announces the death of his stepdaughter Lucy-Bleu Knight at the age of 25

Slash has announced the death of his stepdaughter Lucy-Bleu Knight. She was 25 years old.

The Guns N’ Roses guitarist shared the statement on social media this morning (July 22).

“Lucy-Bleu Knight (December 6, 1998), beloved daughter of Meegan Hodges and Mark Knight, stepdaughter of Samantha Somers Knight and Slash, sister of Scarlet Knight, stepsister of London and Cash Hudson, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2024 in Los Angeles, California,” it said.

“Lucy-Bleu was an incredibly talented artist, a passionate dreamer and a charming, lovable, sweet soul.”

No further information about her death has been made public and Knight’s family asked that “speculation on social media be kept to a minimum as she grieves and processes this devastating loss.”

The update quickly sparked a wave of condolences. Many of the musician’s fans and friends expressed their support for Slash and his loved ones in the comments section. “Words cannot express our deepest sympathy and condolences. I love you all so much,” wrote model and author Susan Holmes McKagan, who is also the wife of Slash’s Guns N’ Roses bandmate Duff McKagan.

Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea wrote: “Oh man God bless you,” while Violet Grohl – musician and daughter of Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters – wrote: “My heart aches for you guys. Love to your family right now.”

According to LinkedIn and media outlets such as Metro, Knight worked as a day manager at Electric Lady Management and apparently also worked as a tattoo artist, often sharing her work on social media.

She was the daughter of Meegan Hodges and Mark Knight. Hodges and Slash first started dating in 1989 and rekindled their relationship in 2015.

Knight’s death is likely the reason why Slash announced yesterday (July 21) that he would be canceling several dates on his upcoming tour.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, the SERPENT tour must unfortunately cancel the performances listed below. Refunds are available at points of purchase,” a statement said. The dates included a show in Cincinnati tonight (July 22), as well as follow-up dates in Interlochen, Huber Heights and Windsor.

At the time of writing, it looks like the tour is expected to resume in Toronto on July 28th.
