War against Gaza: Israel bombs parts of the former humanitarian zone in the south

The Israeli army is conducting a new operation in the former humanitarian area of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.

According to Al Jazeera, the eastern districts of Khan Younis are under heavy bombardment and at least eleven Palestinians have been killed.

The Israeli army ordered the evacuation of eastern neighborhoods in preparation for a new offensive on the previously designated humanitarian zone.

The Israeli military accused Hamas of firing at Israeli troops from the humanitarian zone and said it was adjusting the area to target the Palestinian group there.

“The (Israeli army) is on the verge of taking violent action against the terrorist organizations and is therefore calling on the remaining population in the eastern neighborhoods of Khan Younis to temporarily evacuate to the established humanitarian area in al-Mawasi,” the military said in a statement.

Israel began bombing the area a few minutes after the evacuation. A few days earlier, the Israeli army had killed over 90 displaced Palestinians in an attack on the al-Mawasi refugee camp.

Last night, the Gaza Strip Civil Defense reported that its forces had recovered the bodies of three people and rescued several other injured after the Israeli army attacked a residential building in the al-Tuffah neighborhood in eastern Gaza.

This is an evolving story.
