Brazilian singer Ayres Sasaki tragically died of electrocution on July 13 at the age of 35 during a live performance in Salinopolis, Para, Brazil.

The incident occurred at the Solar Hotel, where Sasaki was performing, when he hugged a drenched concertgoer on stage. That contact triggered a jolt in a nearby cable, resulting in a fatal electric shock, People reported, citing Brazilian news site Istoe Gente.

The Para Civil Police have launched an investigation and requested witness statements and expert reports to clarify the circumstances of the incident. The Solar Hotel released a statement on July 14, expressing its commitment to supporting Sasaki’s family and fully cooperating with the authorities. “We are fully committed to supporting his family and taking the necessary measures. We reiterate our commitment to fully cooperating with the relevant authorities for a proper clarification of the events,” the hotel’s official Instagram account said in translation. The statement ended with the words: “Our thoughts and condolences are with Ayres Sasaki’s family and friends during this difficult time.”

Following Sasaki’s untimely death, numerous fans expressed their shock and sadness in the comments section of his Instagram posts. Sasaki leaves behind his wife Mariana, to whom he was married for 11 months.
